Resort Report From Oasis Akumal
     Approximately 60 minutes from the Cancun Airport, deep in the heart of the Rivera De Maya (Mayan Riviera) is the Oasis Akumal Beach Resort. The resort is located on a beautiful white sand beach, with tranquil waters that are protected by a coral reef. The Akumal has 3 pools that are very near the ocean, with another in a more relaxed area with nearby hammocks and a play area for the kids. If relaxing in one of the two Jacuzzis and looking out into the ocean is your thing, or sipping your tropical drink while lounging under a palm tree, Akumal is the place for you. Pamper yourself with a relaxing and rejuvenating massage in a hut extending out into the ocean. Let the sound of the gentle waves carry away your tensions as you look out over the blue green waters from one of the many lounge chairs provided on the beach.

    Accommodations include 186 rooms two buildings, one overlooking lush green gardens and one with an ocean view. All rooms are air conditioned with private baths, telephone, satellite TV, private balconies and 110-volt electricity.

      Activities include aquatic sports, tennis, bicycling, scuba lessons, nightly entertainment and two theme shows every week (Mexican and Caribbean). Akumal is only about 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen, the sleepy little fishing village that has turned into the newest hotspot of the Mayan Rivera, enjoy shopping at all the coolest boutiques, or haggle for a bargain at the many craft shops. If shopping, dining and dancing is on your agenda then Playa del Carmen is a must see.
